Electrical discharge machining
Jadcap provides Electrical Discharge Machining, we have the tools available to process all of our customer's EDM needs. Read on to learn more about how we work with EDM projects. Please contact us with any questions you may have.
Some of our tools use an electrode to remove metal from a workpiece by generating electric sparks between conducting surfaces. Some types of EDM that we provide are termed sinker or plunge, used from making mold or die cavities, and wire, used to cut shapes such as are needed for stamping dies. Fig. 1 resembles a vertical milling machine, with the electrode attached to the vertical slide. The slide is moved down and up by an electronic, servo-controlled drive unit that controls the spacing between the electrode and the workpiece on the table.

Other forms of EDM that we provide is, wire EDM, shown diagrammatically in Fig. 2. This process is numerically controlled and somewhat resembles a bandsaw with the saw blade replaced by a fine brass or copper wire, which forms the electrode. Please contact us with any of your questions.
