Grinding and finishing
We have years of experience finishing and grinding hundreds of products. The following techniques are practiced by our teams at Jadcap:
- Brush Finishing: Non metallic ´brushes´ coated with abrasives (Diamond, Silicon Carbide) are used to ´round´ the surface particles and impart a ´Nodular´ finish. This is usually a non-dimensional technique with finishes of 60-125 RMS depending on coating type.
- Diamond Polish: Diamond belts are used to produce surface finishes of 8-30 RMS depending on coating type. Typically a ´non-dimensional´ finish, but is sometimes used as a final polish step.
- Diamond Grinding and/or Lapping: High concentration diamond wheels or paste is used. Virtually any finish can be obtained and dimensional tolerance of .0005" is common.
- Diamond Honing: A rapid technique to achieve mid range surface finish of 16-32 RMS. Typical tolerance capability is +/- .001".
- Super Finishing: The objective of our finishes is to attain a surface finish of 2 RMS or less. Parts are usually finished by one of the other techniques and super-finished to obtain final polish only. This technique is very time consuming.
